FIU loses big to UTSA in the ServPro First Responders Bowl 57-20
DALLAS, Texas (FLAN 35) - Florida International travel for their match-up with UTSA at Gerald Ford Stadium in Dallas for the ServPro First Responders Bowl as both teams looked to end their seasons on a high note.
The game started out with FIU getting on the birds early with back to back touchdowns to take a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.
However the UTSA offense found its rhythm and was able to respond with back-to-back touchdowns of their own, knotting the game up at 14 a piece early.
In the second quarter UTSA put up 17 unanswered points as FIU seemed to struggle to get the ground game going and the Panthers went into halftime 31-14.
Both ball clubs came out of halftime with a battle ready mindset but the UTSA Road Runners proved to be too much to handle and ended up winning the game 57-20.
